What is Love?

I believe true love is loving as Christ first loved us! What an incredible example God gave us in sending his Son to die on the cross at Calvary, so that whoever believed in him may have Eternal Life.  I’m so grateful the cross isn’t the end of the story, but Christ rose again and today he lives, promising Eternal life to all who acknowledge He is the only one who can atone for their sins and accept Him as the Lord and Saviour of their lives.

In Luke 10:27, He Says ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’  He wants us to love Him with all of our capacity, whatever level of strength or intellect we may have. One of the best ways of displaying our love for him is living out his example and loving others, as we would want to be loved.

I need to love Jesus as He loved me.  He loved me with his all, he was wholly committed to loving me.  He loved me to the point of going to the cross before I even knew about him. To truly love him, I need to love as he loved…I need to love others and be a light for Jesus.

Another facet of Jesus’ love is that it is totally unconditional, he expects nothing in return.  However, as a Christian, my hearts desire is to be more and more like Him.  To honour Him is to want to live like him, I need shine a light for Jesus…I need to be Him to those around me who don’t yet know Him.

Do know the love of Jesus in your life?  Are you loving as he would have you love?

Life in Colour!

Life needs to be lived in colour, life is for living, enjoyment and celebration…Life is such an incredible gift.  I love to celebrate the life I have, I am made to love and be loved.  I need to enjoy my life, my family, my friends and the many blessings in my life.  I do not believe in wearing black, I do not believe in dwelling on life’s challenges, I guess you could say that on the whole I live life with a positive outlook.  I love living life!

Recently, I was out shopping with mr 10, we were really out shopping for him….he was the priority that day, not me  🙂 I stopped to admire some shoes, these shoes to be exact

Aren’t they cheerful?  My son without prompting said, “mum, those shoes are colourful, just like you, you should buy them”  It was one of those moments that warmed the cockles of my heart, a precious word from a precious Son.  I think he must have noticed that I don’t do black, I do colour!

I am sure that doing colour has a positive impact on my life, there is something really quite cheerful about wearing colour.  It might help that I am a cool tone person, and therefore can enjoy wearing strong vibrant jewel tones. I have something else in my life too that makes me into the positive happy person that I am today…I have Christ Jesus. He is my Lord and Saviour.  I am constantly blown away as I am reminded that God sent his one and only Son to live on this earth, die on a Cross (like a criminal) and be raised to Life and through accepting him into my life and acknowledging my sin, I have Eternal Life.

Life is for living, I don’t just live life, I celebrate my life….a life of promise and hope in the Eternal God.

You too can have Eternal Life, by confessing you are a sinner and inviting Jesus into your life.

Oh and in case you are wondering, I resisted the urge to splurge and haven’t bought those shoes…I might one day, but due to other expenses, I haven’t even dared to try them on.
